Seraya Fragrances · Algiers, Dubai, Europe

A perfume house that had to read the same in three languages

The work

Seraya makes hair and body perfume, sold in Algeria and the Gulf and now into Europe. We rebuilt the storefront around how people actually shop for scent, then localised the whole thing into French, English and Spanish.

The range

Six signatures, one bottle

Every fragrance ships in the same 50ml flacon, so the only thing that separates them on a shelf or a grid is the colour of the juice and the name. That constraint set the whole art direction.

Information architecture

Three doors, then five feelings

Thirty-odd products, and the old site put every one of them in a single grid behind three filter buttons. The rebuild files them in three descending levels instead: what you put it on, how it makes you feel, then the product itself. Every level is a real landing page, in every language.

The note list, made visible

Rather than print the pyramid as text, each fragrance page opens with its raw materials suspended around the bottle. Same lighting, same lens, same composition across the range, so the products stay a set.

Product pipeline

From a measurement to a photograph

The whole range shares one flacon, so nothing could be designed until the bottle was pinned down: 135 mm to the top of the cap, 45 mm across the face, 30 mm deep. Those figures become a model, the model becomes a studio frame, and the studio frame goes out into a room. No product was ever photographed. Every image on the store comes out of the same file, which is why a new scent costs a render rather than a shoot.

1Measure

Height, face and depth taken off the real bottle, before a label exists.

Untextured grey clay render of the Seraya flacon, showing pure form before any material is applied
2Model

Built to those figures and checked as grey clay, so the silhouette is judged on its own.

3Light

Glass, juice and label added, then lit once and reused across the whole range.

4Place

Dropped into a room with its own raw materials, for the campaign and the landing pages.

Campaign content

Worn, not displayed

A hair perfume only makes sense on someone. The lifestyle set was directed so the bottle is always in contact with hair or skin, never posed on a surface.

The creator cuts

Four vertical films shot the way the product is actually used: hair, then skin, then out of the house. Same brief, four creators, no studio.

The storefront

What the revamp actually changed

The site Seraya came to us with was a hand-built React single-page app. It looked reasonable and it took orders, but everything a search engine reads was missing: one page title for the entire site, no description, nothing rendered until three megabytes of JavaScript had run. We moved the catalogue onto Shopify with a custom theme, then rebuilt the two pages that do the selling.

The homepage One grid of every product, against four blocks that each lead somewhere
BEFOREReact single-page app
The previous Seraya homepage, a single long grid of every product behind three filter buttons
AFTERShopify, custom theme
The Seraya Fragrances homepage built by Mira Visions, with the Souffle d'Orient hero, the three collections, the hair fragrance rail and the best seller
The product page A paragraph and a price, against a page that answers the questions in order
BEFORETwo languages in one field
The previous Seraya product page, with the French description and the Arabic translation pasted into the same field and a single cross sell
AFTERNotes, tabs, layering, reviews, sticky bar
The Seraya Souffle Sensuel Absolu product page built by Mira Visions, with the fragrance notes strip, the how to use carousel, a layer me with rail, an explore similar scents carousel, the customer review wall and a sticky add to cart bar
